Josh: Last year they got 190 out of the 196 they asked for.
Austen: They spent no money.
Hassan: They said in the mid year that their treasurer messed up their reimbursements and no one got reimbursed for their purchases.
Vince: I say we just check the numbers and fund in full.
Natalia: I think we should adjust publicity...actually I would fund the whole budget in full.
Vince: Proposal to fund the budget in full at 176.58.

GIRLS AND BOYS IN MOTION
Josh: Last year they got 2.5k, this year they’re asking for 2.3k.
Peace: Banner said they got 1.1k this year. They put fy16 on the mid year.
Josh: Also their math is wrong, they’re actually asking for 4k.

COLLEGES AGAINST CANCER (CAC)
Monique: This year they’re asking for 2.7k.
Vince: They got 1.2k last year and it looks like they’ve only spent 50 so far. They still have to do Relay for Life. They didn’t spend much money so far they said because they weren’t allocated enough to do anything else. I don’t know how you would mark progress in this group when they only do event at the end.
Monique: I think if we gave them Relay for Life and the speaker-
Hassan: Yeah that’s what I was thinking.
Monique: Plus if we fund the speaker they can decide what events they actually want to do.
Vince: They don’t itemize the speaker, they just put a flat 750.
Vince: Proposal to fund Candy Gram fundraiser at 62.66
Peace: We never made policy about fundraising.
Vince: Well this is purely for charity so I’m fine with it.
6/0/0
Passes.
Vince: Proposal to fund the Relay for Life Awareness Event at 384.96.
6/0/0
Passes.
Vince: Proposal to fund The Magic Yarn Project at 261.99.
Monique: We can take out the 30 for miscellaneous and the bonner cloths. Proposal to fund at 201.99.
Hassan: Capping advertising costs at 25 and removing unitemized miscellaneous tools, proposal to fund at 219.99

Vince: Proposal to fund Relay for Life in full 1195.35.

WHAT IS THE STUDENT FINANCE COMMITTEE?

The SFC, 7 senate-appointed student representatives, works for the student body in allocating the Student Activity Fund to all Oberlin student organizations and individual student projects. SFC members meet multiple times a week to review budgets, vote on allocations, and vote and discuss policy, lead working groups with student organizations, and hold office hours to serve as a counselor for students seeking guidance about funding and student government.
