Winter Term Committee Stipulations
1. Project Funding The SFC will only consider requests for Winter Term projects under exceptional circumstances. This review may only take place by a supermajority vote of the SFC, and no allocation will be made without a unanimous vote of all SFC members.
2. Programming During Winter Term During the Spring Allocation process, chartered student organizations may request funds for programming that will take place during WinterTerm. However, allocations for such activities and programs require a supermajority vote of the SFC. The SFC will not consider requests for Ad Hoc funding of WinterTerm projects, except when such an Ad Hoc request constitutes the annual budget for a chartered organization, in which case a supermajority vote is still required for WinterTerm programming.
3. Winter Term Committee Funding At the beginning of the fall semester, the SFC shall match the College administration’s financial contribution to the Winter Term Committee. The SFC may allocate more or less than the College administration only by a supermajority vote. A decision to allocate more or less than the matching number must be based an evaluation of the projects that the WinterTerm Committee funded with SFC monies, the level of project-funding requested by students in the present year, or the amount remaining in the Ad Hoc Fund for the following year. The Student Treasurer is responsible for ensuring that the transfer of funds follows the time constraints of the Winter Term Committee.
4. Winter Term Liaison The SFC will appoint a Committee member as liaison to the Winter Term Committee, to be in contact with the chair of the WinterTerm Committee. This member will notify the chair about the funding decision before the Winter Term Committee begins to review projects under its regular allocation schedule. The Winter Term Liaison will also be in charge of ensuring that the following stipulations are met. 5. Winter Term Committee Stipulations In order to allocate SFC monies toward Winter Term projects, the Winter Term Committee must meet these stipulations: 1. The Winter Term Committee must publicize the availability of grants and the deadline to apply for grants on campus. 2. The Winter Term Committee must give greater consideration to student projects in which the student(s) involved demonstrate a reasonable level of financial need.
